SNB's Moser: SNB open to negative interest rates

FXStreet (Łódź) - SNB Governing Board member Thomas Moser told WSJ reporters on Wednesday that the central bank considered introducing negative interest rates if a need for defending its minimum exchange rate arose.

"We always said we would use it if needed," he stressed.

The SNB policymaker refused to say whether this could happen as soon as at the upcoming monetary policy meeting next week.

EUR/CHF jumped to 1.2106 on the news.
