AUD/USD: A drift lower to close the week

FXStreet (Guatemala) - AUD/USD is currently trading at 0.7747 with a high of 0.7836 and a low of 0.7743.

AUD/USD is finishing the week below the 0.78 handle and the key levels on top. The major lost the battle for 0.7880 and drifted down through the 55 day moving average and remains under pressure below the recent highs of 0.7938.

Today came with a handful of US data with US GDP that beat expectations m/m but lower y/y, PCE that came in line and Michigan consumer sentiment that was positive. Then, 15 minutes before Wall Street close came with Yellen speaking. There was little there that has not been repeated over and over again and anyone hoping for an indication on when the first rate hike is going to be would have ben disappointed as no clues were given.

Wall Street closed: Choppy closing Friday in US stocks

U.S. stocks did better at the end of the week, more so in the NASDAQ closing at the highs of 4333 bid while the S&P and Dow were a slow drift higher.
