Kaplan points to less accommodation – RTRS
Robert Kaplan (2017 voter, neutral), President of the Dallas Fed, favours removing some accommodation from the US monetary policy, albeit at a gradual pace.
Kaplan added that the Federal Reserve is headed towards achieving its goals, while he sees chances of further improvement in the labour market without overheating the economy.
Regarding inflation, Kaplan said the economy should clinch the 2% target within the medium term.
He added that a slowdown in China could impact on FX volatility.
