AUD/JPY retreats but holds above 91.00

FXStreet (Córdoba) - The AUD/JPY finished lower on Monday at 91.45, after being rejected from levels under 91.00. A stronger Yen across the board weighed on the AUD/JPY.

At the beginning of the week the pair climbed to 91.86 hitting the strongest price since January 23 but lost momentum and started to pullback, bottoming during the European session at 90.92. The AUD/JPY rose quickly back above 91.00 and for the second trading day in row was rejected from levels under the mentioned level.

AUD/JPY between 91.00 and 92.00

The Aussie continues to hold momentum against the Yen in the short-term but is still facing some pressure on a wider view. Since last Thursday it has been moving sideways between two key levels.

To the upside the rally was capped below 92.00 while to the downside it has been unable to confirm levels under 91.00. A clear break of 92.00 could find more buyers; immediate resistance lies at 92.30 and 92.70 (January 21, 22 high). On the downside, a consolidation under 91.00 could signal weakness ahead for the AUD/JPY.
